Charity events

London to Brighton is the UK's largest charity bike ride with 27,000 riders cycling the scenic route between London and Brighton on the south coast. This event first took place in 1980 and has helped raise in excess of £40 million for the British heart Foundation to fund pioneering research, patient care and vital information.
We decided to participate in this event organised by BHF to help support the charity. With 50 participants ranging from 19-73 years old. each individual had their own challenges, whether it was to improve on a previous time or merely just to enjoy the ride. The 54 mile bike ride began!
To help raise extra sponsorship funds, a cheese and wine evening was organised with over 100 tickets sold. We discussed why we needed to raise money and how important it was to make people aware of how much good work is done by the BHF. This event proved to be a success and helped raise money towards the total amount.
The bike ride was a tremendously fun challenge and every participant completed the course between 4-8 hours and collected their gold medals once they crossed the finish line. Waiting at the finish line was a member of our organisation team to capture this moment on camera!
Once each individual completed the course, our organisation team were waiting on the beach with light nibbles and refreshments until everyone was back.
Afterwards, for those participants who decided to stay in Brighton and celebrate, we arranged for over night accommodation, dinner at an Italian restaurant and optional nightclub entertainment.
Before the big day, we organised for the bikes to be collected from Berkshire, delivered to London, re-collected at Brighton and returned back to Berkshire. A coach to London and from Brighton was provided for the participants and organisation team. We wanted the riders to have a stress free start to their challenge and concentrate on the event ahead.
The London to Brighton bike ride is an event anyone can join in with a little training and have great fun. This is a great team building and social event.
We raised a total amount of £8000.
